Volunteer

If you appreciate live theatre, enjoy meeting new people, and trying new things, consider joining the Dorset Players! Contribute your skills and talents or acquire new ones. An average production team may include up to 40 volunteers including: actors, a director, a producer, a stage manager, stagehands, prop master, costumer, lighting and sound designers, a set designer, construction crews, box office assistants, house managers, and ushers. It takes a whole village with lots of energy and commitment to bring quality theatre to our community.

• • Front of house: Box Office, House Manager, and ushers.
  • Construction: designing and building sets, painting, and set dressing.
  • Costumes: sewing, fittings, gathering costumes, backstage dressers during a show.
  • Backstage: Stage Manager, stagehands, Prop Master, sound and lighting operators.
  • Directors, Actors, and Producers.
  • Members of Committees such as: Special Events, Fundraising, Diversity, and Building Maintenance.
